Resting in His Peace

Resting in His Peace

Scripture:
John 14:27 (KJV)

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Devotional:
Peace is something many of us search for, believing it will come once life becomes easier or more predictable. We wait for the chaos to settle, the answers to arrive, or the circumstances to change. Yet Jesus offers a peace that is not dependent on what is happening around us.

The peace Christ gives is different from the peace the world offers. Worldly peace is temporary and fragile—it fades when trouble comes. But the peace of Jesus remains steady even in uncertainty, grief, and unanswered prayers. It is rooted in His presence, not our situation.

A Jesus-centered life chooses rest over striving. When we stay close to Him, anxiety begins to lose its hold. Fear quiets when we remember that Christ is near and that He is faithful in every season. As we fix our hearts on Jesus, His peace guards our minds and steadies our souls.

True peace flows from knowing that Jesus is with us, leading us, and holding every detail of our lives in His hands.

Reflection:
Where do you need to invite the peace of Jesus into your life today?

Prayer:
Jesus, quiet my heart and calm my fears. Help me rest in Your presence and trust in Your peace. Amen.

Take a moment today to sit with Jesus in His presence.
If this devotional encouraged you, share it with someone who may need His peace today.
